I was nervous about starting reformer Pilates but it was one of the best things I've ever done! Carly and Codie are both amazing instructors, I can feel a difference after every session. I've recommended to multiple friends who are now all equally as hooked as me. Special shoutout for the biscoff protein shake too 🤩🤩

Unfortunately my experience with this studio has become incredibly disappointing. Before the issues began, I attended classes regularly as a member and always found the instructors pleasant and welcoming. However, once concerns were raised and problems needed resolving, the level of communication and professionalism changed completely. I booked onto one of the studio’s Pilates retreats and paid £275 in total. At no point during booking were retreat-specific terms & conditions provided, important accommodation details disclosed, or the £75 payment clearly explained as being non-refundable. A group of attendees later discovered significant differences in room arrangements and that some guests had apparently been offered paid room upgrades/private rooms which had not been communicated to everyone beforehand. When concerns were raised politely, the response was dismissive and defensive, leaving several of us uncomfortable enough to withdraw from the retreat entirely. The refund process was then extremely stressful. Emails went unanswered for days, agreed refund timelines were missed, and the refund itself was eventually processed in multiple confusing transactions without proper explanation. Following this, I submitted written notice to cancel my membership in line with the studio’s own 30-day notice period and also requested deletion of my account/data. Despite this I received no proper cancellation confirmation, my account remained active/locked in the app, and payment attempts continue to be made after my notice period had expired. I even had to escalate concerns to the app provider, Glofox, due to the lack of communication and handling of my account. Overall, the lack of transparency, poor communication and stressful handling of customer concerns has left me with very little confidence in the professionalism of the business, which is a shame because this situation could have been handled very differently with better communication and customer care.

I’ve just finished the 6-week challenge at Birdies and I honestly can’t believe the results I’ve seen in such a short space of time. Their studio is incredibly welcoming and supportive. Codie & Carly who run the classes are so friendly, encouraging, and always happy to help, which makes such a difference when you’re trying something new. Every session felt positive and motivating, and they take the time to make sure everyone feels comfortable and confident with the exercises. I’ve noticed a real improvement in my strength, posture, and overall fitness after just six weeks. If you’re thinking about giving it a try, I would 100% recommend it. It’s such a lovely environment, the studio is gorg and the girls really do make you feel supported every step of the way. I will definitely be continuing my Pilates journey🤍

I know how damaging bad reviews can be, which is why this is an absolute last resort. However, I have been ignored by this business and they owe me money, so I feel I have no other choice. I started going to Birdies with my friend in January and we absolutely loved it. The girls were so friendly and really put us through our paces. We then signed up so we could attend weekly, and my friend has since introduced many others to the Birdies community. Things started to go sour when we booked onto a retreat. Initially, my friend and I booked a double room, but there were serious inconsistencies in communication. Months later, we were told that we would instead be sharing a room with 10 people, even though I only knew a couple of the other girls attending. A room of 10 people with one shared bathroom is not an arrangement I would be comfortable with at the age of 31, and it went against our initial agreement. Shortly afterwards, we asked to cancel our places on the retreat and were offered £200 as a gesture of goodwill, despite there being nothing in the terms stating that the £75 deposit was non-refundable. I have since managed to recover the £75 deposit through my bank. However, Birdies have only refunded me £125, rather than the £200 they agreed to pay. I followed up by email but have received no response. I also experienced issues when trying to cancel my membership. My cancellation was confirmed on 1 April, with the understanding that my final payment would be taken on 6 April. Please tell me why Birdies then took another £68 on 6 May, despite written confirmation from one of the owners that my notice had been accepted and that my final payment would be in April. Birdies still owe me this £68. I messaged last week regarding this issue and have yet to receive a response. It is concerning to see how often the girls are posting on the business’s social media accounts while ignoring paying clients who are trying to resolve legitimate issues. The lack of communication continues to be justified by personal circumstances, but when running a business there is only so much paying customers will accept before they expect answers and their money returned. We all have personal lives, but this business is not being managed professionally in the slightest. I am not the first person to experience issues with this company, and I certainly will not be the last. Please return the £143 owed to me at your earliest convenience.

I had never done reformer Pilates before and in January I went along to see what it was all about. It’s now April and I’m absolutely addicted. It has changed the way I approach exercise and it has helped me with injuries that I was carrying, and at 46 I had a lot of them. Now I’m finding that I’m going to the gym and because of reformer I don’t have the pelvic and hamstring issues I was having. This brings me on to Carly and Codie, who run the classes. They are amazing teachers first and foremost. They really care about the community they are building, they make you feel so welcome and help guide and teach you correctly. They are so knowledgeable about reformer, you can ask them anything. Their classes are welcoming and everyone has a great time. I would encourage anyone to give their classes a go, especially women my age if Mother Nature isn’t being kind to your tight tendons and muscles. 10/10 score from me, it’s absolutely money well spent.
